Online download of your 12-digit Aadhaar number, a unique identification number, makes it convenient for people to provide ID proof whenever required. However, an Aadhaar card download requires an OTP sent to your mobile.

How To Download an Aadhaar Card Online Using Your Registered Mobile Number and OTP?

To Download the Aadhaar card pdf online using your mobile number, you have to visit the official portal of UIDAI as a first step. Once you reach the website, you can follow the simple steps mentioned below for Aadhaar card download by mobile number:

  • Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on the option of ‘Download Aadhaar’ available under it

How To Download an Aadhaar Card Online Without Using Your Registered Mobile Number and OTP?

You can download your Aadhaar Card even without using your mobile number OTP. Here are the steps to follow for the procedure:

  • The first step is to go to the official portal of UIDAI. Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on it
  • Next, go to the option of ‘Order Aadhaar Reprint’ and click on it
  • In the given space, enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number or the 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID) along with the captcha code/security code
  • Find the ‘My mobile number is not registered’ option and click on it
  • Now, enter your alternative mobile number (unregistered) in the space given and click on the option of ‘Send OTP’
  • You will get the OTP on the mobile number you provided
  • Enter the OTP and click on the checkbox of ‘terms and conditions’
  • Next, go to the ‘Submit’ button and click on it
  • You will reach a new screen where you can ‘Preview Aadhaar letter’ to reprint
  • Now, make the payment using the ‘Make payment’ option
  • Once you complete all the steps, you must add your digital signature to the PDF receipt
  • Lastly, download the receipt. You will get a service request number of 28 digits on your alternative number
  • You can use this service request number to track the status of your application

How to Use an Aadhaar Number to Download an Aadhaar Card?

You can download your Aadhaar card using your Aadhaar Number. All you need is to follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the official Aadhaar or UIDAI portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar
  2. Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ option under it
  3. Now, submit your 12-digit Aadhaar number under the required option along with the captcha code. Click on the ‘send OTP’ option next
  4. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number
  5. If you want to download the masked Aadhaar Card, you need to select the Masked Aadhaar option, else select the regular Aadhaar card option
  6. Submit the OTP received on your registered mobile and click on the ‘Verify and Download’ button
  7. Once the verification is done, you will get a message about the download of your Aadhaar card successfully
  8. You will receive the PDF of your Aadhaar Card (password protected) in the downloads folder.

How to Use Date of Birth (DOB) and Name to Download Aadhar Card?

You can also download your Aadhaar card using your name and DOB if you forget your Aadhaar number. Here are the steps to follow for an Aadhaar card download online:

  1. Go to the official portal of Aadhaar at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid
  2. Submit your complete name along with your registered mobile number or the registered email ID and the captcha code
  3. Click on the tab of ‘Send OTP’
  4. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile/email. Click on the tab of ‘Verify OTP’
  5. On the screen,  a message will appear informing you about the Aadhaar number/enrolment ID sent to your registered mobile number
  6. Once you receive the number, go to the e-Aadhaar card download section on the official portal
  7. Here, submit either your 12-digit Aadhaar number or the enrolment number of 28 digits along with the security code. Now, click on the ‘Send OTP’ button
  8. Submit the OTP received and click on the tab ‘Verify and Download’. Your Aadhar card online will be downloaded

Use your Virtual ID to Download E-Aadhaar Card

Virtual ID is another latest way to download an Aadhar card. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Visit the official portal of Aadhaar and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option mentioned under ‘My Aadhaar’
  2. Now, choose the option of VID or Virtual ID
  3. Submit the ID as well as the security code. To generate OTP, click on the ‘Send OTP’ button
  4. Submit the received OTP. Click on the ‘Verify and Download’ option. Your e-Aadhaar Card will be downloaded and can be accessed with your Aadhaar card password. It is an 8-digit password that includes the initials of your name and DOB

Use your Enrolment Number (EID) to Download your Aadhaar Card 

The enrolment number can also be used to download an e-Aadhaar card as per the steps mentioned below:

  1. Visit www.uidai.gov.in. Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option listed under it. You will reach https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar page
  2. Here, submit your enrollment ID of 28 digits along with the captcha code. Generate OTP by clicking on the ‘Send OTP’ button
  3. Submit the OTP, go to the ‘Verify and Download’ button, and click on it. You will be able to download your Aadhaar Card copy

Download E-Aadhaar Using DigiLocker

To download important documents easily, UIDAI has joined hands with DigiLocker. Aadhaar card holders can use this facility to create a DigiLocker account and save their documents, including their Aadhaar card. Below are the steps to download Aadhaar from a DigiLocker Account:

  1. Go to the portal of the DigiLocker account at https://digilocker.gov.in and login to your account
  2. Click on the ‘Sign In’ tab and submit your Aadhaar number
  3. ‘Verify’ the number by clicking on get ‘OTP’ option
  4. Submit OTP and click on ‘Verify OTP’
  5. The screen that appears will have the ‘Issued Document’. Download it and ‘Save’ it for future use

E-Aadhaar Card Download through the Umang App

The Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) app is another way to download an e-Aadhaar card. All you need is to follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Download the Umang App and open it
  2. Under the ‘All Services’ tab, click on the ‘My Aadhaar’ option
  3. Now, under the ‘Download and Verification Services’, choose the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option
  4. Submit your Aadhaar number and the captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’
  5. Submit the OTP and click on ‘Login’ option
  6. A process of verification will lead you to the display of your Aadhaar card
  7. Click on the download option to get an e-copy of the Card. Here, you can choose if you wish to avail of a masked Aadhaar card

Aadhaar Card Download using mAadhaar App

The mAadhaar app can also be used to download e-Aadhaar anytime if your mobile number is registered with UIDAI. The steps are as follows:

  1. Download the app on your smartphone and log in to it
  2. Under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ option, click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ tab
  3. Choose the type – Regular Aadhaar or Masked Aadhaar
  4. Choose the option whether you are using an Aadhaar number/Virtual ID/Enrolment ID to download your Aadhaar
  5. Submit the number of your Aadhaar/VID/EID along with the captcha. Click on the button ‘Request OTP’
  6. Submit the OTP and ‘Verify’ by clicking on the same option
  7. Go to the ‘Open’ option to download the PDF format of the e-copy of your Aadhaar using your password (first 4 letters of your name in upper case and your year of birth in YYYY format)

Procedure to Download Masked Aadhaar Card

So, what is the difference between a masked Aadhaar card and a regular Aadhaar card? The only difference is that in a Masked Aadhaar number, the initial numbers are hidden, and you can see the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number. The masked Aadhaar card can be availed if you don’t want to disclose your Aadhaar number. Here are the steps to download:

  1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar
  2. Enter details of your Aadhaar Number/Enrolment Number/VID as per the option chosen to proceed further
  3. Submit the captcha code. Click on the ‘Send OTP’ option
  4. Next, go to the ‘Do you want a Masked Aadhaar?’ tab and click on it
  5. Now, submit the OTP. Go to the option of ‘Verify And Download’ and get a PDF copy of your masked Aadhaar

How to Know Aadhaar Number on a Mobile?

To know your Aadhaar number on your mobile, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Visit https://resident.uidai.gov.in/lost-uideid
  2. Select Enrolment ID/Aadhaar Number, as per the option that you want to retrieve
  3. Submit details like name, registered mobile number, or email ID along with the captcha
  4. Click on the ‘Send OTP’ tab to go ahead
  5. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile
  6. Submit ‘OTP’, and you will receive your Aadhaar number on your registered mobile
