The CNG version of the hatchback car offers a peak torque of 60 Nm and a maximum horsepower of 41 PS. In its latest model, the car also has a touchscreen infotainment system of 7 inches. It comes with Android Auto and Apple Carplay in the best variants. When it comes to safety the car has rear parking sensors and side airbags.
Hyundai basically took over the entire market for hatchbacks when it introduced Santro. Ever since, it has been the definitive answer to the question – what is hatchback car – and one of the highest sellers in the country. Recently Hyundai has come up with the uplift model that features a better engine and a completely different look. The engine displacement of the car is 1086 cc. This is a four-cylinder petrol engine car and it offers the highest torque of 99 Nm and peak power of 69 PS.

The one-liter petrol engine offers the highest torque of 98 Nm and a maximum power of 68 PS. In the case of the 1.2-liter petrol engine, these figures go up to 113 Nm and 83 PS. The engine also features an automatic gearbox to go with a five-speed manual transmission facility. In the CNG variant, you get a one-liter engine.
It was through Nexa that Maruti Suzuki launched Ignis – it is a premium hatchback car in every sense of the term. It is available in four trims and comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that is capable of producing the highest torque of 113 Nm and the highest power of 83 PS. It has a five-speed automatic and manual gearbox. The car has an engine displacement of 1197 cc. In the top model of the car, you get LED (light-emitting diode) projector headlamps alongside DRLs (daytime running lamps). Coming to the interiors, the car has a touchscreen infotainment system of 7 inches.
When it comes to car making in India Hyundai has always been one of the most prominent names. This is especially evident from this particular model which is supposed to be among the finest hatchback cars that you would get in India. i10 Grand Nios was recently launched as an uplifted version of i10 Grand. It comes in three variants – petrol, CNG, and diesel. The petrol engine version of the car has an engine displacement of 1197 cc. This 1.2-liter engine generates a maximum torque of 114 Nm and peak power of 83 PS.
This is considered by many in India as one of the premium hatchback cars in the country. It has made a splash in the hatchback segment owing to its strong performance and stylish looks that are sure to impress one and all. This fuel-efficient car offers you a mileage of 22.5 km (kilometers) for each liter. In 2016, it received the NDTV (New Delhi Television) Car of the Year Award. The car has an engine displacement of 999 cc along with a five-speed automated manual transmission. This produces a peak torque of 91 Nm and the highest power of 68 PS.
Yet another car from the Maruti Suzuki stable makes it to the list of the top 10 hatchback carsof India. The price of the car varies between 5.9 and 8.76 lakh rupees. This is a relatively new car and has been one of the best-sellers among cars in the country. It must also be said over here that this is not without reason though. This hatchback from the Japanese carmaker is presently in its third iteration and its engine is perhaps the most fuel-efficient. The 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine offers a maximum power of 88.50 BHP (brake horsepower).
