It is a 12-digit number allotted by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization or EPFO to help them access their EPF details through a UAN Member Portal. Accessing the EPF account becomes quite easy through the UAN Member Portal. The main three functions offered under this e-Sewa portal are View, Manage, and Online Services. Here is a detailed description of all these three functions and services provided under them:

1. View: Services offered under the View Function are:

  • Profile: Here the employee can check the basic details such as the name, gender, birth date, UAN number, and so on

  • UAN Card: Here, the employee can check the UAN or Universal Account Number
  • EPF Passbook: This service enables the employee to check the updated passbook with all the transfer, and withdrawal of funds details

2. Manage: Services offered under Manage Function are:

  • Existing Details: Under this service, the employee can edit the basic details
  • KYC Details: Here, the employee can modify the Know Your Customer Details such as the PAN number, bank name, and so on

3. Online Services: Services offered under Online Services are:

  • Claims Under Form 31, 10c, and 19: Under this service, the employee can withdraw full or partial claims using these forms
  • Transfers: Here, the employee can transfer funds from one account to another provided the KYC is updated.

How to Register and Login for UAN Member e-Sewa Portal?

Registering for the e-Sewa portal is an easy procedure that can be done by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official e-member sewa portal: https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/

Step 2: Click the option “Activate UAN” displayed at the bottom right below the “Important Links” tab

Step 3: Fill in the essential details such as the member ID, birth date, name, AADHAR card number, PAN card number, email ID, mobile number, and the CAPTCHA displayed on the page

Step 4: Click the “Get Authorization Pin” option

Step 5: You will get a PIN generated on your registered mobile number

Step 6: Fill in the PIN to activate your UAN

Step 7: You will receive an auto-generated password as a message on your registered mobile number

Step 8: Login and change the password as per your preference

Step 9: You are now registered successfully in the E-Sewa UAN portal

How to Check the UAN Status Online?

Step 1: Visit the official UAN website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/

Step 2: Click the ‘Know Your UAN’ option

Step 3: Enter your registered mobile number and fill in the CAPTCHA displayed on the page

Step 4: Click on the ‘Request OTP’ option

Step 5: The epf.india.gov.in member interface will take you to another page where you will be required to fill in details such as your name, birth date, PAN card number or AADHAR card number, and the CAPTCHA displayed on the page

Step 6: Select the Member ID tab and fill in details like your personal details, residential details, and current office details

Step 7: Click on the “Get Authorization Pin” option

Step 8: You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number

Step 9: Enter the OTP under the disclaimer box

Step 10: Now, click the ‘Validate OTP and get UAN’ option

Step 11: You will now receive the status of your EPF UAN via an SMS on your registered mobile number

To get the UAN from a mobile number, you must first register on the UAN portal. Then, get the details by giving a missed call on 011-22901406 from the registered mobile number.

To edit or update the personal details, employees can go to the Manage Function on the e-Sewa portal. Choose the ‘Change Contact Information’ under the Manage Function and use the authorization PIN sent to your registered mobile number to update the details on the portal.

Click on the ‘Forgot Password' option in the login section of the official UAN member portal

To activate the UAN e-Sewa portal follow these steps:
Visit the official EPF member portal
Click on ‘Activate UAN’ under the ‘Important Links’ section
Fill in the details and click on ‘Get Authorization PIN’
