So, what is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?
PM KISAN is a scheme launched by the union government to facilitate the farmers with financial benefits by offering them INR 6000 as fixed income every year. The total amount offered under this scheme is transferred in three equal installments to the farmers. So, they get an instalment of INR 2000 each after every 4 months.
This money can be used by the farmer to buy agricultural inputs, to pay for supplies or to cover costs for household needs etc.

Benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
The PM KISAN scheme benefits the eligible farmers who subscribed to the yojana in 2023. Here are some advantages of the plan:
- The scheme benefits farmer by offering them an annual income of INR 6000
- The money is paid in the form of quarterly income of INR 2000 after every 4 months in April, August and December
- The money is paid in the bank account of the eligible farmers
- Under the PM Kisan scheme, the farmer can also get a loan facility in the form of short-term loans by using Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

- Under the KCCs, farmers can get loans at cheap interest rates
- They can avail loans without any collateral for up to INR 3 lakhs
- The KCCs also available with crop insurance coverage for farmers

Eligibility Criteria of PM KISAN
Under the PM KISAN Yojana all landholding farmer families are termed as eligible to avail the benefits. Here, family means husband, spouse and minor children. Also, they should hold land for cultivation listed under the state records.
People Who are Excluded from the PM KISAN Beneficiary Categories
Below are the people who are not eligible under PM KISAN:
- If someone possess institutional landholding, they are not eligible
- If the eligible farmer’s family members hold any constitutional posts earlier or currently
- Members of parliament or legislative assemblies (current as well as former)
- Officials of Centre/State government ministries
- Officials of municipal corporations and district panchayats etc.
- Central/ State Government employees, serving/retired officers in ministries, PSEs etc.
- Officers (serving or retired) of autonomous institutions under the Indian government
- Regular local body employees
- All retired or pensioners with INR 10,000/month as minimum pension amount
- Doctors/Engineers/Lawyers/ Chartered Accountants/ Architects
- All income taxpayers
Documents Required to Avail PM KISAN
Here are the documents that farmers must provide to avail the benefits of the scheme:
- Proof of Indian citizenship
- KYC documents
- Details of bank account
- Aadhar number
- If your Aadhar number is not issued, you can provide your Aadhaar enrolment number with an ID card such as DL, voter Id card, NREGA job card etc.
How To Register Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
Below are the ways to enrol into the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana:
- One way is to get in touch with the village Patwari or the concerned officer in your locality. Provide them the needed details and get enrolled in PM KISAN Yojana
- Alternatively, you can also visit the CSC or Common Service Centre in your vicinity and get registered by submitting the fee that is applicable
- The third way is to get self-registered by visiting the ‘Farmers Corner’ section of the online portal of PM KISAN
- There is also a fourth way in which you can use your mobile to complete the process of online registration. For this, you have to download the PM KISAN mobile app. You can use either Google play store or the ‘PM KISAN Mobile App’ option offered in the PM KISAN Yojana website to download the app
Steps to Online Register for PM KISAN Yojana:
Here are the steps that you can use to register in the PM KISAN scheme online:
- First go to the PM KISAN website
- Look for the ‘Far
- Fill in the below details in the registration form for new farmers

- Choose the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option in the ‘Farmers Corner’
- Rural/Urban Farmer Registration
- Aadhar number
- State of the farmer
- Check if the farmer is already registered in the system
- Submit the captcha code provided in the page and enter ‘Search’
- If the farmer is not registered already, the system will not display any database
- Here, you can see a pop-up window asking ‘if you want to register yourself?’
- Press ‘Yes’ and apply for new registration
- Now, submit the credentials required and press the ‘Save’ button
You can complete the enrolment by following any further instructions mentioned there.
Details Required to Complete the PM KISAN Registration Process:
The governments of different Indian States and UTs have a database where they have names of the eligible beneficiaries who are from landholding farmer families. To prepare the database by registering the below details:
- Farmer/beneficiary name
- Farmer /beneficiary age
- Gender
- Proof of citizenship
- Contact number
- If they belong to SC/ST category
- Details of bank account of the beneficiary
- Aadhar Card Number (if not issued submit the Aadhar enrolment number along with an ID card like DL, Voter Id Card etc)
How to Check the PM KISAN Beneficiary Status?
For the PM KISAN beneficiary status check online, the following steps can be taken:
- Go to the official portal of PM KISAN
- Visit ‘Farmers Corner’ on the home page and choose the ‘Beneficiary Status’
- Enter the below details:
- Mobile/Registration Number
- Captcha code
- Press the ‘Get Data’ tab to see the farmer beneficiary information on the screen
How to Check farmer’s Status in PM KISAN Village Beneficiary List
Here are the steps that farmers can take to check the beneficiary status:
- Go to the official portal of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi
- Visit ‘Farmers Corner’ on the home page and choose the ‘Beneficiary Status’
- Select the state/district/block/village etc.
- Now, enter the details mentioned there such as contact number/Aadhar number/account number etc.
- There will be a captcha code that you need to enter. Now, press on the tab of ‘Get Data’
