How to Download Duplicate Copies of Bike Insurance Online?

Below are the steps to follow for downloading bike insurance policy online:

  • Go to the official portal of the insurance company
  • Select the type of policy and submit details like personal information and policy details etc.
  • You may have to verify your profile
  • Once your details are verified, you can view and download the policy document. Get a print out of the paper and receive a copy at your registered email id.

How to Download Duplicate Bike Insurance Copy Offline?

Here are the steps to follow to receive a copy of your bike insurance policy offline in case you have misplaced or lost your policy papers.

  • The first step is to inform your insurer â€“   As a first step, you must notify your insurer once you realize that you have lost your insurance policy papers. Once you intimate them, the insurer will start the process of issuing a duplicate copy at once. You can inform them via calling at their toll-free number or by visiting at the nearest branch of your insurer
  • The Second step is to submit an application â€“ In the second step, you have to write an application mentioning all the details of the policy in it. Below are the details required in the application:
      • The full name of the applicant
      • The insurance policy number
      • The insurance policy issuance date
      • Type of cover
      • Two – wheeler RC number

Also, you must mention the reason for applying for the duplicate papers of your bike insurance policy. The insurer might even charge a certain fee for issuing the paper.

  • The third step is to File an FIR – Getting an FIR filed is the third step in case of loss of vehicle insurance papers. You must also ensure to send the FIR copy to the insurer together with the application while applying for a duplicate copy of bike insurance.
  • Sign Indemnity Bond – It is compulsory for you to sign a bond of indemnity of a certain value, which is done in a non-judicial stamp paper and include the name of the insured and the insurance policy number. Some insurers might ask the insured to get signature of two witnesses (not family members) as well as your financial status
  • Publish an advertisement – This is another step that a policyholder has to take to get back his/her lost insurance papers. You have to publish an advertisement in the newspaper stating about the missing papers, which you need to share with your insurer  .
