What Documents of Your Vehicle Can Be Stored in DigiLocker?
Below are the documents that can be stored in Digi Locker:
1. Driving License (DL):
No one can drive without a DL in India. It is punishable by law if you drive on Indian streets without a valid driving license. Thus, carrying this document in your DigiLocker account while going out in your car is very important.
2. Registration Certificate (RC Book):
The RC book proves that the vehicle is legally registered with the RTO of India and is safe to drive. This is another essential document that every car owner/driver must carry in their DigiLocker account to keep it handy.
3. Insurance Papers:
The Motor Vehicles Act 1998 in India makes it compulsory to have third-party vehicle insurance to ensure the safety of the third party. So, if you get into an accident on the road, the loss incurred by a third party can be compensated with third-party vehicle insurance. Hence, storing this document in DigiLocker is essential to access it anytime.
4. PUC (Pollution Under Control) Certificate:
Another important piece of paper to carry while driving is a PUC certificate. This certificate ensures that the level of emission coming out of your vehicle meets the safety standard mentioned by law. Hence, it is important to save this certificate in your digilocker.
How to Download RC from Digilocker Account?
RC download or the download of other documents from Digilocker can be done directly from the issuing agency in real-time. Hence, it is a quick process.
