Easy Way to Carry Vehicle Documents Digitally through Digilocker and mParivahan
Do you know that carrying your vehicle documents digitally is possible? Yes, you can use Digilocker and mParivahan apps for the same. Know about it all in this blog.
Carrying vehicle papers with you all the time is a responsibility that every vehicle owner has to take. And if somehow you fail to carry them along, you come under the scanner of the police. But now you don’t have to worry about carrying the hard copies of your vehicle papers with you all the time anymore. All you need is to use online apps like mparivahan to store your vehicle papers and present them digitally when asked by traffic cops while plying on the road.
Let us learn about the various ways in which the mparivahan and digilocker apps function and how they are useful in keeping your vehicle documents safe.
What do you mean by Digilocker and mParivahan?
These are apps that you can download in your mobile and which allow vehicle owners to carry their papers related to their vehicles such as DL or Driving License, RC or registration certificate etc. digitally. By digitally, it doesn’t mean keeping the scanned copies of the papers, rather keeping them in proper formats as approved by the government officials. So, these vehicle documents stored in a digital app are accepted in case of any legal requirement. The format is approved by transport and other government departments making them legitimate.
DigiLocker is a tool made available by the Electronics and IT Ministry of India. The app collects the details of the vehicle owner via the VAHAN app. It collects the details of both DL and RC of the motorists and stores them digitally in the DigiLocker app. On the other hand, the mParivahan online app is designed by the Road Transport and Highways Ministry of India via NIC. Both these apps help in storing documents that are officially approved and can be used everywhere.
Benefits of using Digilocker and mParivahan Apps
The Motor Vehicles Act amendments of 2019 has made the motor rules all the more stringent with hefty penalties for violating any rules. There is also a huge penalty for not keeping the valid documents with you all the time while driving. So, to facilitate citizens with easy storage of documents like DL and RC with vehicle owners all the time, the government has allowed the facility to store them on digital apps.
Since the penalty rates were hiked by the government’s 2019 amendments, the fines for not carrying valid documents with you while driving a vehicle has risen. Now, if you drive without a valid DL, you will be charged with rupees 5000 as compared to the earlier 500 rupees.
Thus, the usefulness of these apps has become all the more pronounced as they allow vehicle owners to store the vehicle documents. There is no hassle of carrying the hardcopy of the docs anymore and no risk of getting fined by traffic cops.
How to save documents in DigiLocker?
You can follow a simple process to save your vehicle papers with Digilocker as follows:
- You have to go through a Aadhaar based verification process to sign in to the Digilocker application.
- Now, get copies of your valid documents like DL and RC from the database.
- Further, you can also store your insurance documents of car or bike in the Digilocker as most vehicle insurance companies are linked with DigiLocker and allows you to store the digital copies of your vehicle insurance policy documents.
- For PUC, the digital tool is not crafted to store that record and so you need to keep a physical copy of the document with you.
How to Store Documents in mParivahan?
Similar to Digilocker, you can store your vehicle papers in mParivahan by following a simple process as follows:
- First, download the app from Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
- Though registering yourself in the app is not compulsory, it helps to view documents while traveling.

In what’s being called a quiet healthcare revolution, India’s young working professionals are reportedly making the most health insurance claims – outpacing even senior citizens. Surprised? So are the insurance providers. Young adults ranging between 25 and 35 years, who are often assumed to be in peak health, are now dominating the charts in health insurance claims by age.

If you think lifestyle-related health issues only show up after 40, think again. Youth no longer guarantees immunity. Today’s 25 - 35 age group is increasingly facing medical issues that only plague older adults. The reason? Long working hours at the desk, deliveries on speed dial, and a social life that rarely includes a decent amount of sleep are some of the reasons for the early onset of medical conditions like diabetes, anxiety, and hypertension.
